AHMUR holds first assembly

  • Fostering research and implementation of renewable energy projects, as well as guiding energy transition and establishing the Region’s Green Hydrogen Valley, are the key targets of this new association.

  • Andamur, Enagás, Primafrio and Soltec, leading firms in the transport, logistics and energy industries, are the main association founders and members.

  • Cetenma, which is Murcia’s Energy and Environment Technology Center, provides technical guidance to the association

Murcia, February  3rd, 2021. AHMUR, pioneer Green Hydrogen association in the Region of Murcia, recently held its first assembly. This newly-created organization aims to lead energy transition in the Murcian region and to establish itself as reference and support for future projects in the area of technological applications and considerations linked to Green Hydrogen in a variety of sectors. A sustainable development model aiming for a carbon-free economy supported by renewable energies, including green hydrogen.

This association was founded by Murcia Region companies which are industry leaders, such as Andamur, specialists in comprehensive freight transports in European routes, with a large gas station network in 9 countries, as well as cards for fuel, tolls, repairs and taxes; Enagás, main natural gas carrier and Technical Operator of Spain’s Gas System; Grupo Primafrio, leading company in refrigerated transport of fruit and vegetable and pharmaceutical products; and Soltec, leading firm specializing in comprehensive photovoltaic solar energy solutions, with a special focus on solar tracking systems and innovation. All of them are supported by Cetenma, Murcia’s Energy and Environment Technology Center and Technical Lead for this association.

AHMUR was created to promote scientific analyses and research for implementation of projects based on renewable energies and green hydrogen. AHMUR focuses on serving as an instrument to inform and raise awareness amongst citizens. The aim is to give rise to a collective consciousness that fosters the use of clean energies and green hydrogen as a feasible alternative in order to reduce emissions and put an end to the negative consequences of today’s climate change.

On the other hand, this association intends to foster projects based on clean energies and green hydrogen, supporting public-private collaboration for dissemination and implementation of projects based on these technologies. In this regard, the draft for Murcia’s first hydrogen station was completed and successfully presented on December 19.

Some of the main aspects addressed by the Founding Assembly were the presentation and approval of the 2021 action plan; the appointment of key association positions; the approval of the 2021 budget; AHMUR’s assessment of other national and European associations in the area of green hydrogen and green hydrogen valleys; as well as the evaluation, and if applicable presentation to MITECO (Spain’s Department of Environmental Transition and Demographic Challenge), of the first green hydrogen projects in the Region of Murcia.

At Andamur we’re aware of the importance of nurturing and protecting the environment to ensure the best possible future for our planet. We’re fully engaged with the environment, which is why we’ve implemented a number of actions under the Environment Focus in our CSR plan, #CaringForWhatMatters. These actions seek to reduce the environmental impact of our activity.

All the environmental initiatives that we implement are geared towards reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that the UN included in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Specifically, our environmental work centres on SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy; SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities; SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production; SDG 13: Climate Action; SDG 15: Life on Land; and SDG 17: Partnerships.

The installation of solar panels at our head office and service areas, use of recycled materials and recycling points in our offices are some of the measures we’ve already put in place. One of our biggest milestones in 2020 was becoming the first company in the industry to obtain Carbon Footprint Verification.

At the same time, multi-energy is now a reality at Andamur after we set up our first multi-energy service areas in 2020, which include Vehicular Natural Gas (VNG) at Andamur La Junquera and Andamur Guarromán, and electricity at Andamur San Román and Andamur Pamplona, thereby promoting the development of much more sustainable mobility.

Even so, at Andamur we know there’s still a long way to go, which is why, this year, we’re working to obtain the ISO 14001 Environmental Management certificate awarded by AENOR.

Within our environmental protection plan, we adopt 6 key commitments: promoting sustainable mobility, saving energy, reducing paper use, saving water, promoting recycling and other green measures such as cleaning up natural spaces and the existing Andamur Forest, which can absorb 2.8 tons of CO2 per year.

We believe there’s no such thing as a small action, which is why Andamur Ever Green includes actions in our offices such as reducing paper cups, introducing digital contracts and installing electric hand dryers, as well as more far-reaching measures such as installing green points and recycling points at our service stations, and automating lights according to natural light levels.

At Andamur, we know that caring for the environment is everyone’s responsibility and we wanted to motivate our employees so that they’re aware that, when it comes to protecting the environment, every action counts towards the common goal of achieving better protection.

As it has done every year since 2016, Andamur has donated €15,000 to the Oikía association, a shelter home in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, the poorest country in South America with the lowest raste of school attendance.

About Oikía

The Oikía shelter is a Cáritas (Diocese of Cartagena) project that provides accommodation for a limited time to street children and young people in Bolivia.

Since its founding, Oikía has achieved various goals such as reaching young people increasingly early on in their lives through closer cooperation with public institutions.

Despite all its achievements, the problem does not end here. The Oikía association is therefore continuing to strive towards a number of goals:

  • To provide accommodation for homeless children and young people (aged 8 to 18) so that they have shelter, food and healthcare.
  • To help them build their self-esteem and personal motivation so that they can move on to other permanent educational homes.
  • To free them from the nocturnal dangers on the street as well as from the habitual or frequent use of alcohol or drugs.
  • To oversee the welfare and overall development of the children and teenagers so that they’re motivated to change their lives in a way that enables them to get off the streets.
  • To provide psychological support to any young people who need it.
  • To educate boys and girls and improve their skills.

With these charitable initiatives, Andamur engages with Goal 1 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to end poverty, which aims to ensure equality between people, protect the planet and achieve prosperity for all in order to eradicate poverty in all its forms throughout the world.

The annual donation to the Oikía shelter home is part of our CSR Plan #CaringForWhatMatters under the Leadership and Future focus that frames the company’s social commitment. With this plan, Andamur aims to give back to society some of what society gives to the company.

In addition, the Segura Food Bank will receive 2,507 euros that companies and individuals have donated through the solidarity challenge “So Much to Share”.

This week we have delivered the donations obtained through the solidarity challenge “So Much to share” that we started last December 1st. A challenge with which from Andamur we decided to make a donation of 50,000 euros to the Food Bank: 25,000 euros to the Food Bank of Almeria and 25,000 euros to the Food Bank of Segura. And, with the latter, we launched the solidarity challenge “So Much to share”. With this challenge we have asked for collaboration to raise the figure of 50,000 euros. Thus, we have encouraged the Andamur team itself, companies, customers and collaborators of Andamur and anyone else who would like to join in. Through our web page it has been possible to make donations during the days of the campaign and we have managed to collect 2,507 euros which we have given to the beneficiaries.

The Segura Food Bank

The Segura Food Bank (BASMUR) is a non-profit charitable organization considered to be of public utility, based on volunteer work, whose aim is to obtain food to be distributed, free of charge, among charitable organizations dedicated to the assistance and direct care of needy people within the Region of Murcia.

The fundamental values that preside over the work carried out by BASMUR are awareness, efficiency, transparency and solidarity.

It is worth highlighting some very significant figures and data that have increased substantially as a consequence of the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.

  • The number of people that BASMUR provides with food has increased from 30,151 in 2019 to 61,323 in 2020.
  • The number of kilos delivered has increased from 2.5 million in 2019 to 4.2 million in 2020
  • The entities to which we deliver food have increased from 169 to 225
  • The families we provide with food have increased from 12,000 to 20,000 in just 9 months.

The Food Bank of Almeria

The Food Bank of Almería Foundation was created in 1999 with the aim of helping the most needy in the province of Almería. Throughout all these years it has increased its work until it reached these figures today.

  • The number of people to whom Food Bank of Almeria provides food has increased from 48,768 in 2019 to 64,107 in 2020.
  • The number of kilos delivered has increased from 3,179,340 million in 2019 to 3,229 million in 2020
  • The entities to which we deliver food have increased from 165 to 178.
  • The families to whom we provide food have increased from 16,470 to 20,242 since the health crisis.

Commitment, Overcoming and Complicity are the values of Andamur and this year they had to be represented more strongly than ever. That is why we have launched this initiative and others like the delivery of 9,600 FFP2 masks, in the first weeks of the pandemic, to the reference hospitals of the cities where our service areas are located.

All these solidarity initiatives are part of our CSR Plan #TakingCareOfWhatMatters in the axis Leadership and Future which frames the social commitment. With this plan we intend to give back to society a part of what it gives us as a company.

>> After the recent opening of Guarromán last September, Molgas and Andamur are once again betting on natural gas in a highly strategic enclave in international transport, La Junquera.

>> La Junquera becomes the eleventh natural gas fueling station of Molgas

Molgas customers can already refuel Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) at the Andamur La Junquera Service Area. This is the natural gas refuelling station that the company has launched, as a result of its collaboration agreement with Andamur, and after the opening of Guarromán in September of this year 2020.

The new Andamur Molgas natural gas fueling station is now operational and works 24 hours a day, is free to access and accepts debit and credit cards, as well as fuel cards from both companies.

Scale Gas, a startup born out of Enagás’ corporate venturing programme, Enagás Emprende, dedicated to the field of infrastructure and small-scale logistics solutions, is in charge of the integral management of the natural gas station.

With this new incorporation to its network, Andamur continues to reflect its commitment to the environment. Multi-energy in Andamur is already a reality in which electric and natural gas (LNG and CNG) recharge points are integrated. In addition, it should be noted that this year that ends, the company has become the first company in the sector to obtain the Carbon Footprint Certification, thus taking the initiative in reducing emissions associated with the supply chains in the professional transport sector to promote the reduction of climate impact.

<<With the “So Much to Share” action, he encourages other companies and collaborators to join in with this initiative so there is nothing missing from any table this Christmas>>

This year that is coming to an end is proving to be a tough year for everyone. A year in which solidarity has proved to be an essential value in order to somehow alleviate all the negative effects that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought to society.

Commitment, Overcoming and Complicity are the values of Andamur and this year they had to be represented with more strength than ever. For this reason, Andamur has decided to make a donation of 50,000 euros to the Food Bank; 25,000 euros to the Food Bank of Almeria and 25,000 euros to the Segura Food Bank and with the latter to launch the solidarity challenge “So much to share”, in which we encourage the Andamur team, other companies, clients, collaborators and in general any person who wants to join this initiative in a quick and easy way through a web page created for this challenge.

Segura Food Bank

The ” Banco de Alimentos del Segura BASMUR” (Segura Bank Food) is a non-profit charitable organization considered to be of public utility, based on volunteer work, whose aim is to obtain food to distribute, free of charge, among charitable organizations dedicated to the assistance and direct care of needy people within the Region of Murcia.

The fundamental values that preside over the work carried out by BASMUR are awareness, efficiency, transparency and solidarity.

It is worth highlighting some very significant figures and data that have increased substantially as a consequence of the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.

– The number of people that BASMUR provides with food has increased from 30,151 in 2019 to 61,323 in 2020.

– The number of kilos delivered has increased from 2.5 million in 2019 to 4.2 million in 2020

– The entities to which we deliver food have increased from 169 to 225

– The families we provide with food have increased from 12,000 to 20,000 in just 9 months.

It is therefore clear that now more than ever companies and other entities must join forces to help those who need it most.

Throughout this year, specifically a few weeks after the state of alarm was declared and being aware that this was critical and essential material for health care workers, we have already delivered 9,600 FFP 2 masks to the reference hospitals in the cities where our Service Areas are located.

All these solidarity initiatives are part of our CSR Plan “TakingCareOfWhatMatters” in the area of  Leadership and Future, which is part of our social commitment.  With this plan we intend to give back to society a part of what it has given us as a company.

For a year the workers of Andamur and the company itself have collaborated with the solidarity initiative “Breakfast with a smile” which began on November 20 last year, Universal Children’s Day. Since that day Andamur provides daily to its team of service areas and business centre, coffee and fresh fruit for breakfast. The employees were therefore encouraged to make voluntary financial contributions to a charitable cause. The company committed to double the amount collected by the workers during the year, so today we are handing over 1,500 euros to the ALCA Alternative to the Street Social-Educational Project.

The event was attended by Juan Carlos López Sánchez, President of Andamur and Cristina Miñarro representing the workers, who handed over the donation to Sister Miguela García Jiménez (Daughters of Charity) and Salvador Martínez Saura, Head of Social Action for the Caritas Diocese of Cartagena.

The ALCA Project (Alternative to the Street) works to help children at risk of social exclusion and currently serves 100 children between the ages of 3 and 17 in the city of Lorca. All of them are provided with educational help through reinforcement classes, also in clothing and food for those families who need it and they carry out recreational activities with them. A project that belongs to the company of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul and Saint Louise de Marillac, an international congregation, recognized with the Prince of Asturias Award, which works to provide aid and support to the most disadvantaged sectors in different projects around the world.

The Andamur work centre that has raised the most money in this action has been the Andamur San Román Service Area (Álava), which has been responsible for choosing the NGO to which the money raised in “Breakfast with a Smile 2021” will be allocated, as this solidarity initiative will continue throughout next year.  This time it will be ASPANAFOA, the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer in Álava, whose main objective is to improve the quality of life of children with cancer and their families.

This solidarity action is framed within our CSR Plan we take care of what matters, in the axis Leadership and Future , which frames the social commitment. With this plan we aim to give back to society a part of what it gives us as a company.

On November 4th in Andamur we held the virtual round table “Calculating the Carbon Footprint in the Transport Sector” with the participation of experts and leading companies to analyze the state of the sector in this area. Miguel Ángel López Sánchez, CEO of Andamur; May López Díaz, Director of Business Development for Sustainable Mobility; Manuel Labrador Jaime, Chief Auditor of Environmental Management Systems, C02 and Carbon Footprint Verifier of AENOR; Ramón Valdivia Palma, General Director of ASTIC; José María Chamizo Sánchez, Director of Alternative Energy Business Development of IVECO Spain and Gabriel Veiga Dopico, Director of Innovation of Andamur as moderator, participated in the round table.

During the meeting, interesting conclusions were reached about the Carbon Footprint and sustainable mobility. May Lopez Diaz, Director of Business Development for Sustainable Mobility, spoke in her speech about the importance of measurement and certification of emissions in the transport sector as the first necessary step for change, because “what is not measured can not be improved. He also spoke about the new trends in mobility brought about by the global pandemic that has forced companies and citizens to apply changes in areas such as technology, consumer habits and aspects related to collaboration and innovation.

Similarly, Manuel Labrador Jaime, Chief Auditor of Environmental Management Systems, Verifier of C02 and Carbon Footprints of AENOR, explained the importance of calculating the carbon footprint by companies, emphasizing the reputation it represents for these companies and the confidence they transmit when they carry it out. He also delved into the concrete consequences of the carbon footprint for the planet and what companies and organizations can do about it.

José María Chamizo Sánchez, Business Development Director of Alternative Energies of IVECO Spain focused his speech on talking about concrete solutions to the problem of the carbon footprint. He explained the European targets for reducing C02 emissions for heavy vehicles and presented four pillars needed for change: Development of a European regulation on sustainability, a sustainable refueling network, vehicle availability and competitive costs. He also spoke of the need to expand the natural gas station network throughout Europe with refueling points that include quality services for drivers equal to those available at a petrol station.

Finally, in his speech Ramón Valdivia Palma, Director General of ASTIC (International Road Transport Association), explained how the lack of competitiveness and added costs have a negative impact on the development of the transport sector and how the sustainability pursued by companies must be ecological, social and economic. He also conveyed how efforts are being made to reduce consumption in European trucks through the development of efficient vehicles, training in economical driving and cargo management, among others.

An event full of valuable information and interesting reflections that brought together 120 attendees around a topic as interesting as important. You can watch it again here.

Our work with the Carbon Footprint and commitment to sustainable mobility

The European Environment Agency (EEA), an agency of the European Union, notes that 13% of particulate pollutants in the 28 countries of the European Union come from road transport. This percentage may reach 27% in Spain. This situation should make us reflect as a sector and that is why we wanted to bring together professionals and companies to talk, learn and improve.

From Andamur we have been working for a long time in the line of sustainability as a key axis within our company through the CSR plan “We Take Care of What Matters”. Last June we became the first company in the sector to obtain the Carbon Footprint Certification, ISO 14064-1 Certificate of Quantification of Emissions and Removals of Greenhouse Gases granted by AENOR. This year we also inaugurated our first natural gas station in Guarromán (Jaen) next to Molgas and installed Endesa chargers in some of our stations. Next month we will inaugurate our second natural gas station in Andamur La Junquera and throughout 2021 we will put into operation the latest technology in Ultra-fast Chargers in Andamur La Junquera and Andamur Guarromán, which are added to those already active in Andamur San Román and Andamur Pamplona. In addition, we collaborate directly with our clients, offering them a free tool necessary to also achieve their own objectives, a statement of their refueling in Andamur that helps them calculate the scope 3 of their carbon footprint, thus helping them to achieve the objectives set by the European pact, calculating their environmental cost beyond the economic cost.

A whole way to continue contributing to the protection of the environment that should be everyone’s business.

“Empresas por la Movilidad Sostenible” (Companies for Sustainable Mobility) continues growing, this time with the incorporation of Andamur

Within mobility, a key point is to be able to guarantee the supply of different types of energy for all types of vehicles and routes. For this reason, we proudly join EMS “Empresas por la Movilidad Sostenible”.

EMS is a meeting point for companies, institutions and public administration on the present and future of environmentally friendly, safe, inclusive and sustainable mobility.

Our commitment to sustainability has led us to be the first company in the sector to obtain the Carbon Footprint Certification, an environmental certification that endorses our work to eliminate emissions from our service stations. And we go further, providing this information to our customers as well.

In the words of our CEO Miguel Ángel López, “we are a multi-energy company capable of supplying all the energy that the transport sector may need: electric chargers, LNG and CNG services. We want to give our customers what they need now and in the future and always express our commitment to the environment and sustainable mobility which is clearly reflected in our projects and actions”.

For her part, May López, Director of Business Development for Sustainable Mobility, stated that “what is not measured cannot be improved. Andamur’s commitment to certifying its carbon footprint and providing it to its clients, mainly transporters, will help to raise awareness, act and reduce its environmental impact and promote more sustainable mobility”.

ANDAMUR AND SUSTAINABILITY

By joining “Empresas por la Movilidad Sostenible”,  we are taking a further step on the road to promoting sustainable mobility and achieving our goal of being carbon neutral, a goal that we are achieving through the implementation of different environmental measures in our service stations.

In Andamur we do not only measure our carbon footprint and offer alternative energy systems in our service areas, but we are also committed to generating enough renewable photovoltaic energy for the operation of our facilities. This is our contribution to the European Green Pact, which aims to make Europe the first continent to achieve climate neutrality.

With our incorporation into EMS (Companies for Sustainable Mobility), this entity continues to establish alliances, bringing together more than 40 members who are committed to promoting sustainable mobility through collaboration and innovation, thus contributing to 17 SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) and sustainable growth from an economic, social and environmental point of view.

iandamur el programa de innovacion de andamur

iandamur el programa de innovacion de andamur

Since the beginning of Andamur we have been an innovative company, being leaders in the implementation of products and services that until then were not offered in the sector (the construction of the Andamur La Junquera Service Area, the launch of the first bank card for the Transport sector, the construction of the first safety parking for trucks or airCODE, the only system that guarantees total security when refuelling).

Today we continue to be committed to innovation by launching iAndamur, a programme to systematise innovation, encourage the capture of business ideas and the culture of innovation, promoting intrapreneurship and relying on relationships with external collaborators to multiply our R&D&I.

With this programme, through workshops to stimulate innovation, we will generate a large number of ideas. Those selected will become part of our incubator and will be carried out following our own methodology that we have developed based on Lean Star Up.

In Andamur we understand the R&D process as a strategic variable that must be unique for all areas of the company. Therefore, the main objective of the iAndamur programme is to promote and facilitate innovation at all levels of the organisation, focusing on covering the needs and expectations of our stakeholders.

iAndamur’s policy is based on four basic principles: to foster a culture of innovation throughout the organisation, to promote collaboration with external innovation organisations (universities, technology centres, startups and companies), to implement an innovation management system to collect, validate, plan and develop business ideas and, finally, to disseminate the knowledge generated by R&D&I activities inside and outside the organisation.

Aware of this responsibility, we are committed to disseminating this policy among all interested parties and implementing it at all levels of the organisation.  All this in order to reach and maintain a prominent position in the market of integral solutions for transporters and individuals.
