For the third consecutive year, Andamur maintains its collaboration with the “Jesús Abandonado” foundation, this year focused on the actions that the foundation is carrying out regarding the health emergency in the Covid-19. From Andamur we have made an economic contribution to collaborate in the 400 daily services that are being offered and that include a hot dish at midday and a cold dinner at night.

A collaboration that we have made during the two previous years and that on those occasions consisted of the “Month of Bread” in which from Andamur we financed all the bread that was distributed in the dining room during a whole month. In addition, workers and managers of Andamur did a day of volunteer work in the soup kitchen of the city center of Murcia.

This action is part of our CSR plan #WeTakeCareOfWhatMatters, within its axis of social commitment and is added to other measures carried out during this health crisis in which we have donated 9,600 masks to the different reference hospitals in the communities where our Service Areas are located. We have also fitted out our washing facilities in Andamur Lorca and Andamur Guarromán so that emergency, safety and health vehicles can be washed free of charge.

At present, stress is more present in the work of professional drivers and many transporters may suffer it due to the uncertainty and pressure caused by the health crisis of COVID-19.

To help control this problem, the Foundation for Road Safety (FESVIAL) has published 10 recommendations to try to manage the stress that can be caused by the current situation in driving:

  1. Get the necessary hours of sleep to be rested and keep in mind proper sleep hygiene.
  2. Do not spend too much time on negative thoughts that may cause worry or stress.
  3. Avoiding alcohol consumption and not self-medicating.
  4. Don’t set unattainable goals that can create pressure and overload. It is essential to always prioritize the most important goals.
  5. Enjoy your free time by doing something pleasant or fun. This will make you put aside for a moment the negative thoughts and worries caused by the situation.
  6. While driving, listen to music you like to make the trip more enjoyable. Don’t overhear information about the pandemic on the radio. It is important to be informed but over-information can lead to a feeling of constant uneasiness.
  7. Maintain a healthy diet that prioritizes fruits, vegetables and legumes and drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated is essential.
  8. Reduce consumption of tobacco, coffee and other stimulants.
  9. Control your speed even when there is no traffic. High speeds can create tension and stress.
  10. If you suffer an anxiety attack while driving, it is best to stop in a safe area as quickly as possible. If you can not relax, ask for help. Shortness of breath, palpitations, choking sensation or overflowing are some symptoms of suffering a panic attack.

We are in a difficult and very responsible situation, but we must not lose sight of the fact that health is always the most important thing. Take care of yourself behind the wheel!

With the Ozone Generator service, our clients can disinfect their truck cab or car in just 10 minutes, in any of our own service areas

Our customers can already disinfect their truck or car cab with the Ozone Generator Service available in our six Service Areas. This generator provides complete disinfection of truck cabs and private vehicles in just 10 minutes, through the generation of ozone that serves to eliminate bacteria, viruses, fungi and other pollutants present in walls, floors, ceilings and fabrics of the cabin.

A free service with which we continue by the side of the truckers, facilitating the day to day of their routes in these complicated moments in which, in addition, they are so necessary. This service is also available for our car customers, presenting their BonusCard.

One more action that is part of our CSR Plan “Cuidamos lo que Importa” (We care about what matters) in which we want to pay special attention to the care of the driver.

This protection measure, moreover, joins all those implemented since the beginning of the alarm state, in order to offer the best of services by adapting to the established health and safety requirements:

– We have adapted our food/catering services to make them compatible with the legislation that, during this situation, prevents the opening of restaurants.

– In the same way, we have adapted our own stores with screens and other protective elements, so that our customers can do their shopping comfortably and safely.

– On the other hand, we have made available to our customers a total of 20,000 masks and 11,000 hydroalcoholic gels in our Service Areas.

– We have also donated 9,600 masks to the various reference hospitals in the communities where our Service Areas are located

– Finally, we offer a free washing service for emergency, safety and sanitary vehicles in our washing facilities in Andamur Lorca and Andamur Guarromán

In Andamur we are sure that together we will come out ahead. Because now more than ever #EveryTripMatters
