Andamur renews its commitment to solidarity with the Fundación Jesús Abandonado during the Month of Bread

For the eighth consecutive year, Andamur joins the Jesús Abandonado Foundation in its solidarity initiative “Month of Bread”, assuming during the whole month of April the full cost of the bread consumed in its social dining rooms.

This solidarity action coincides every year with the anniversary of the opening of the Andamur El Límite Service Area in Huércal-Overa (Almería), which opened its doors on April 14. We are proud to collaborate with an organization that works tirelessly to guarantee essential food to those who need it most.

In addition, several members of our team participated in a volunteer day at the foundation’s soup kitchen, where they were able to learn first-hand about the daily reality of the people served and the admirable work being done there.

The Fundación Jesús Abandonado continues to increase year after year its capacity to provide assistance. In 2024 it offered close to 250,000 breakfast, lunch and dinner services in its two soup kitchens, benefiting more than 2,600 people. Of these, 35,000 were sandwiches, aimed especially at people who, having returned to the labor market, are unable to attend during normal service hours.

The majority profile continues to be that of men, although more and more young people, with greater possibilities of social reintegration, are being served. For this reason, many of them are being referred to the Employment and Training Center Programs, located near the dining room, where some 450 people are currently being accompanied in their training and labor insertion process.

With these actions, Andamur reaffirms its commitment to social initiatives that make a real difference in our community, and supports organizations such as the Fundación Jesús Abandonado, whose daily work is essential to build a fairer and more caring society.
