<<A campaign designed by and for women truck drivers, participation in national and international events and new initiatives within WOW – Women on the Way>>
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Andamur held a Week of Women featuring several initiatives aimed at highlighting the role of women in the transport sector. All actions were carried out within the framework of WOW – Women on the Way, our initiative to promote equality and recognize female talent in the industry.
#SoyCamionera: strong, capable women truck drivers
For the past eight years, Andamur has turned March 8 into a special day for women truck drivers passing through its Service Areas. On this day, the facilities are decorated in purple to recognize the women who travel thousands of kilometers every day on the road.
This year, drivers received a Relax Pack designed for their rest moments during long routes. The pack includes a toiletry bag, sleep mask, earplugs, a mug with relaxing infusions, thermal socks and a music playlist to unwind in the cabin.
Two generations of women truck drivers
As every March, Andamur has also released an audiovisual piece as part of the #SoyCamionera campaign. This year’s story brings together two generations of transport professionals.
Carmen Ventura, a pioneer at a time when few women worked on the road, and Karima Bustamante, representing a new generation of women drivers, share their perspectives on the past, present and future of the profession.
Next WOW Forum and Awards in 2027
Following the success of the 3rd International Forum on Women and the Transport Sector and the first edition of the WOW Awards held in 2025, Andamur has announced that the next edition will take place in 2027. Both events will now be held every two years, consolidating their role as reference platforms for highlighting female leadership in transport.
International presence and support for female leadership
During this week, Andamur also participated in key sector initiatives, including the Women’s Fleet event in Poland, where our colleague Magdalena Galazka took part in a round table on the role of women in transport.
Additionally, through WOW – Women on the Way, Andamur sponsored the 4th National Congress of Women in Transport, organized by Difundalia in Madrid. The event also hosted the Impulsoras Awards, recognizing women and organizations driving transformation in the sector.
Through these initiatives, Andamur and WOW – Women on the Way reaffirm their commitment to equality and to promoting the role of women in the transport industry.
