Andamur La Junquera celebrates 30 years supporting transport professionals on their international routes. On February 8, 1996, the first truck refueled at these facilities, located at a key connection point with Europe. Since then, thousands of drivers have stopped at this Service Area, establishing it as an essential landmark on the corridor to France.

Its launch responded to a strategic moment for Spain’s energy sector. In the 1990s, following the end of the oil monopoly and the liberalization of the market, the need arose to position the company along the main international logistics corridors. In this context, Fulgencio López and Juan Carlos López promoted a new business strategy that culminated in the opening of Andamur La Junquera, marking a milestone in the company’s expansion.

A space designed for the professional driver

Since its beginnings, Andamur La Junquera has evolved to offer a wide range of services specifically designed to meet the needs of professional drivers during their stops. These include a restaurant, shop, supermarket, laundry facilities, showers, and a gym, as well as a Secure Truck Parking area with 105 spaces, certified GOLD by ESPORG, guaranteeing the highest European security standards.

In addition, in 2021 the AND>GO La Junquera Service Station was added to the site to serve light vehicles such as cars, vans, and motorhomes, catering both to customers from La Junquera and surrounding areas as well as to national and European tourists crossing the border.

With the aim of further increasing capacity and improving the customer experience, five years ago—coinciding with the 25th anniversary of Andamur La Junquera—we made another major investment in the area by inaugurating Andamur La Junquera-Llers, a new Service Area that tripled refueling capacity in the region with 53 truck lanes, further strengthening our strategic position in the province of Girona.

30th anniversary celebration with drivers

To commemorate these three decades, on February 25 we held a special event at Andamur La Junquera dedicated to the drivers who trust the company every day and who have made this location a regular stop along their journeys.

The event included a food truck offering free snacks and soft drinks throughout the day, a photocall, gifts, and various surprises for attendees. In addition, all customers who visited our Service Areas that day received a commemorative keychain as a keepsake of the anniversary.

Thirty years later, Andamur La Junquera continues to be much more than a service station: it is a meeting point, a place to rest, and a safe haven for thousands of transport professionals traveling across Europe every day.
