{"id":66750,"date":"2025-04-04T13:35:58","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T12:35:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.andamur.com\/news\/andamur-premio-8m-por-wow-un-reconocimiento-a-nuestro-compromiso-con-la-igualdad-andamur\/"},"modified":"2025-05-15T11:32:39","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T10:32:39","slug":"andamur-8m-award-for-wow-a-recognition-of-our-commitment-to-equality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.andamur.com\/en\/news\/andamur-8m-award-for-wow-a-recognition-of-our-commitment-to-equality\/","title":{"rendered":"Andamur, 8M Award for WOW: a recognition of our commitment to equality"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friday was a day as special as it was important for the entire Andamur team and, especially, for those who, every day, work to make our initiative<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>WOW, Women On The Way,<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>a real movement and generate a positive impact on society.<\/p>\n<p>And the fact is that, last 07th, we were recognized with one of the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>8M Awards of the Region of Murcia.<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>These awards, promoted on the occasion of<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>International Women\u2019s Day<\/strong>, value those people and initiatives that, with their actions, have excelled in their struggle for equality between men and women in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The event, which took place in the Auditorium Victor Villegas, was attended by the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>President of the Community, Fernando Lopez Miras, the Minister of Social Policy, Families and Equality, Conchita Ruiz and the Minister of Enterprise, Employment and Social Economy, Maria Isabel Lopez.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition, the general director of Women and Prevention of Gender Violence, Ana Bel\u00e9n Mart\u00ednez, also attended, who presented the award to our<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>CEO, Miguel \u00c1ngel L\u00f3pez<\/strong>, and our director of<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>Marketing, Customer Service and CSR, \u00c1ngeles Ruiz.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we launched this project we looked at the need to attract female talent to the transport sector. There was a great lack of personnel, not only at the driving level, but also in positions of leadership and responsibility,\u201d shared Miguel \u00c1ngel. \u201cThis award is a tribute to all women, but especially to all those who are breaking barriers in the transport sector,\u201d continued \u00c1ngeles. There were words of thanks for the entire Andamur team and for the women who are part of it. As \u00c1ngeles emotionally commented, \u201cthey already make up 63% of the workforce\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This day we shared the stage with great women:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Chitina Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>,founder and vice-president of the Asociaci\u00f3n de Familiares de Ni\u00f1os con C\u00e1ncer de la Regi\u00f3n de Murcia (Afacmur), distinguished as \u201cWoman of the Year\u201d, for dedicating her life to improving people\u2019s lives.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mar\u00eda del Pilar Vidal<\/strong>, civil guard of the VioG\u00e9n team in Calpe. Her work fighting against gender violence for 30 years is very important.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mar\u00eda Dolores Bolar\u00edn<\/strong>, del Centro de la Mujer de San Antol\u00edn (Murcia), por<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>dinamizar el papel de la mujer<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>en el barrio murciano y, con el hijo y nieta de<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>Agustina Moreno<\/strong>, from the Women\u2019s Center of San Antol\u00edn (Murcia), for energizing the role of women in the Murcian neighborhood and, with the son and granddaughter of Agustina Moreno, from the Asociaci\u00f3n de Encajeras de Bolillo Santa Florentina, from La Palma (Cartagena), who was unable to join us for health reasons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cIf there is no equality between men and women we will be missing out on the talent, creativity and unique perspectives that each person can contribute, regardless of their gender,\u201d commented Councilor Conchita Ruiz.<\/p>\n<p>We could not feel more identified with her words and more proud to be contributing to it with a project that will continue to grow and give us great satisfactions such as this award.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for believing in it.
